Used to pay the postie by cheque for stuff that needed paying to customs (vat/duty) but no longer have an account with a chequebook.

Can I pay him in cash or will I need him to take it back to the An Post depot and pay them or...........??

I paid cash the last time it happened. I had to have the exact change though

Cash, the docket is your receipt.

Be nice if they somehow informed one in advance of the amount so one could have the exact amount ready for them.
