    It depends on the model. It will have an immobiliser. It may have remote/central locking, deadlocks, and an alarm.

    yeah, it has remote central locking. its just the manual i have shows everything all models have, stuff like a gauge that tells you how many miles of fuel you have left etc..which my model does not have

    there is a red led flashing? in the dash, would that be an alarm?

    Press the remote locking button twice. If there's a 2nd mechanical locking noise that'll be deadlocks.

    The light might be an alarm. Open the bonnet and search for a siren, then deliberately set it off.

    Red light in dash is possibly just to tell you when the immobilizer is armed when the car is locked. Don't think the Focus had a factory fitted alarm as standard back then so any aftermarket alarm would probably have a separate fob.
