    Hi all,

Left a rear wheel of a hybrid bike into the the shop in <snip> about three weeks ago to be repaired needing 4 new spokes replaced so did the axle. Everything was fine until a few days ago when I was readjusting the rear breaks on the bike did I notice the buckle had gone back into the wheel on closer inspection I noticed another spoke had broken of from the hub. Rang the shop and was ask to bring the wheeel down. Upon being told the whole wheel needed its spokes replaced the nice women also quoted my cassette needed replacing as I had a 7 cog cassette with a 8 speed shifter so did the chain to match the new cassette. Then she tried to quote the reason why the spokes are breaking is because they are black which breaks more easily. Knowing she was completely out of line and only trying to make money I quickly asked for the manager which was no where to be seen not surprisingly, also quoted a new wheel would be 60e. Collect the bike this morning from Little Sport <snip> kindly replaced the wheel as the rim was bent reason why the spokes were breaking the mechanics answer in <snip> was I asked for the spokes to be replaced not the wheel. Moral of the story is avoid the shop.

I had the misfortune a few years back of dealing with this shop. The attitude in the place is unreal and you should thank your lucky stars you didn't get to speak to the manager! Let's just say he ain't a people person is the best way i can put it! I don't know how the place is still in business

Like yourself i went down to little sport and the difference was amazing. The customer experience is very satisfying and they always make sure you're happy before leaving the store.

I generally find this is the case with the Northside Bicycle shops.

Best stick to the Southside, better bunch altogether.

You pay a premium when you use those fancy south side shops with their fancy coffee makers and high rent for storing your bike :p

I do hate it when these threads come along, because it's basically the word of one person against the shop, who do not get the chance to refute any "allegations"

Hence although I do not personally doubt anything the OP has said, I am closing the thread and removing reference to the shop in question

    Sorry guys
