    Hi all,

First time poster in the Education section of Boards. I was hoping that someone here could point me in the right direction.

I would like to be considered as an External Authenticator for FETAC examinations, however i am not sure how to go about it. Is there a certain section on the FETAC website that i can apply to be an External Authenticator?

    Thanks in advance,

FETAC (and now I assume QQI) advertise for inclusion on their External Authentication panel occasionally and you will need to complete an application form and attend for an interview. You will need a good understanding of the QA and FETAC process and their policies.

FETAC do not allocate you to a provider so inclusion on the panel does not mean that you will get any work. Providers have to select EAs from the list.

They only advertise when they need to increase the number of people on the panel and it usually restricted to areas where they do not have sufficient number of EAs. So keep an eye on the website. What areas would you hope to extern in ?

    Best of luck

    Hi Further Ed,

My background would be in I.T but also have quite a bit of background in training with different providers. I realise I might be already trying to hit an area that is over saturated with EA's but none the less it would be just an alternative source of income even if it is only sporadically.

Must keep an eye on the FETAC website and see what pops up.

    Thanks again,
