Walking around Galway this evening and noticed two lads waiting at a pedestrian crossing. Thought it a bit off that one stood back and the other watched a group of tourists very closely.

As I watch way too many police documentaries I thought they were up to no good. Watched them cross the road and one of them got real close and the other hung back .

I wasn't going to do anything at first and went on a few steps but then said feck it as I spotted the guy at the bag again. I ran across the road and went straight up to the tourists And told them to be careful.
Fecker had the bag open ready to dip into it .

Have to say it felt good to stop the bast&@ds even if was only temporarily .

They might have been undercover international spies and you might have just ruined five years of laborious work to apprehend a notorious criminal kingpin.

    Good work OP.

Damn it, stop interfering with street art performances just 'cause you don't like it that some take their tips as part of the act. It's Galway... tourists expect it. Some are even disappointed when they check their wallets & purses back at the hotel, only to find they haven't been part of participatory theatre.

I was in a park in east London last year with a mate.. Noticed a dodgy looking bloke hanging around my mate who was a few feet away from me on the phone. In a matter if seconds the suspicious looking guy went up to me mate and nicked his wallet but walked into a dig from me. Definitely wasn't a payday for him cause he lost a few gold teeth when we was finished with him. Maybe I'm paranoid but I'm always wide to these bastards. A lot if these pickpockets seem to hail from a certain place also don't they?

He has longevity though in fairness.

Mind yourself doing this though OP, Gangs don't take kindly to being foiled, they tend not to mutter something about pesky kids and move off; I knew of a bar in Prague where the manager nearly got his face sliced off with a butterfly knife for warning a tourist couple to move their bag. Luckily cops were passing the door.

Have to admit that just as I approached them I realised that I hadn't thought it through very well.
    Thankfully it worked out ok.

And here I was hoping that in this thread there was a picture of two pickpockets covered in tinfoil....
