Fert in September

I reseeded 20 acres in May. A contractor is taking a cut of silage in late early Sept.

I would like to rent ground to sheep farmers for september to November to thicken the sole up.

I was going to spread some potatoe manure fertiliser (10:10:20 or similar) after the cut of silage is taken.

Considering the time of the year and growth starting to slow at that time of year, would fert be a waste of money in sept?

    Thanks
    K

Certainly not a waste of time but after reseeding in may I wouldn't of made silage out of it,grazing often and tight is the only job to thicken up new grass.depending on what soil index for p and k is I would go with about 3 k gallons of slurry and when washed in 2 bags of 18 6 12.new reseeds need a lot of n p and k .got my seeds in last week and there up already,u really can't beat new grass!
