My wife is transferring from job seekers benefit to job seekers allowance. She sent in the application with all the necessary documents but got a call today to come in for a meeting on Thursday.

If anyone has any advice on what to expect, the type of questions etc it would be greatly appreciated.

As well as going over the JSA application and the means test documentation with her, they will check that she is capable, available and looking for work so your wife should bring back-up info on her job applications etc. A read through the basic JSA info will brief her on the areas that will be covered. http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/unemployed_people/jobseekers_allowance.html

Do you still lose a day's money when moving from JSB to JSA?

You never lost a days money.
The payment week changed, so on JSA you got paid a day earlier.

I'm afraid I did. When the changeover happened I lost a day and I never got it back.
