Fender Amp Grounding

    Hi All,

I have a Fender Blues Deluxe (re-issue) amp. It has developed an issue, there's a lot of excessive buzz/noise in certain places. I know that tube amps will have a certain amount, but this is quite excessive.

I got my guitar checked out but was told it's perfect. Also tried a friends guitar but the same noise is there on the amp. I gig a lot - in some places the amp is perfect and others there seems to be a lot of interference.

Is there any way I can check the grounding on the amp as it seems to be a grounding/earth issue with the amp?

I think, you got answer for your question.
Some old or 2-wire wiring cam be reason for grounding/earth problems.
Sometimes extension lead is cause of that problem.
If you have a basic electric skills and multimeter, you can check the grounding, if not, better give it to some tech.

Try different sockets. Knock off other devices, change cords etc.
Maybe check solders on the speaker.
If it's still at it, grounding sounds possible/likely.
Valve amps are high voltage. Be careful where you poke. Even when off, the capacitors can retain lethally high voltage for some time.
If in doubt, get a tech to look at it.

    Dodgy preamp tube perhaps.

i get that too sometimes with my blackstar, it may buzz or may not depending on what else is plugged in elsewhere on the same mains supply.

    FRUSTRATING!

they just amplify any noise in the power supply.

it's been already said: get a multimeter and check.
