excuse the title but its the only way i can think of it. I am looking for something that will sit on network and allow me to plug external hard drives into it. i do not want something that requires its own internal hard drives as i already have a number of external hard drives. does such a thing exist?

The synology looks the job but the reviews i've looked at arent great.

I'm looking for something i can just plug in and use so the raspberry pi is not a goer.
