all the irish stock brokers seem to offer two account types either a simple holding account or a share dealing account. With the share dealing account the company will offer you financial advise on what to buy/sell from what I can understand

the share dealing account davies costs ~1% of the value of your portfolio per annum or min charge of €500 so not cheap at all

I guess the others have a similar charge, I must check

regardless anyone got one of these share dealing accounts and is the advisory service worth anything ?

or is an investor simply better off reading from boards.ie

Davy's select is a good system, they charge roughly 20 euro per transaction or 0.5% of the transaction value.

They do charge an annual management fee of 80 euro but I still think they're the best choice.

I'd never ever take advice from a stock broker company, they could be trying to flog you a dead horse that they bought but now want to dump before it starts to rot!

How much does it cost to lodge or withdraw money from your account? It list on their set of fees and charges:

    http://www.davyselect.ie/about/charges.html

"Bank levied charges for direct payments vary depending on the credit institution and the currency involved. Minimum bank levied charge is €25. Details of direct bank payment charges are published on bank websites. Also, see Davy Ancillary Charges - Direct Bank Payments. In addition beneficiary bank charges may be incurred and deducted from the proceeds of receipt by the receiving bank."
