Can you 'part-pay' on the Apple website?

I want to buy a MAC through the applestore.ie website but I haven't got enough room on one card to buy it in one transaction.

I have two credit cards and if I could put half on each I would be sorted (like you might do in a shop when you might pay some in cash and some on a card etc)

Does anyone know if this is possible or have any suggestions as to how I might get around it.

Just transfer cash to your credit card to cover the cost. It might take 2-3 days for it to appear on your card.

That would work but I don't have that amount in cash. I know I could do a cash advance on one card and put it on the other but I hate paying cash advance fees.

I might ring them later when I get home from work and see if they would let me use two cards over the phone.

To be honest, it's a bit foolish to be splashing that much out on a new laptop if you don't have the cash. What can it do that a good second hand machine for a fraction of the price couldn't do?

Argos do finance on Apple so does Harvey Norman and another good one that now sells Apple adrift in part pay installments is qvc.co.uk

Please, please just make a simple calculation (months X payments + final payment) before even considering buying on the crappy finance deal with Harvey Norman. Also keep in mind you never own the product at any stage and have to return it at the end of the term or start again. I think you end up paying about double for the product. I wrote about it before and can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to go for it.
I would seriously advise to make sure you absolutely need the product (for job/study etc) before buying on finance. If the answer is still yes get a credit union loan.

Here's what I wrote about it before:

Don't worry. I have absolutely no intentions of taking out a finance deal, they are a rip off.

I was only asking if anyone knew if part-payment was possible not for advice on whether I can afford it or not. I am due a large refund onto my credit card in the next couple of weeks for a faulty product I purchased. The case went to court and it was ruled that I was to be refunded by the company. Hence, I will have a credit balance so I am well able to afford it. The balance just isn't available at the moment and I haven't got a laptop as mine is broken.

I am an active member of the CU for years, I would have no problem applying for a loan if I needed one rather than using my card but after a few bad experiences I only like to purchase items online using a credit card as a come back is much easier in the event of a problem.

No worries it wasn't specifically aimed at yourself just in general. Can't believe how blasé/casual some people are about getting loans for stuff they don't need. Also I take any chance to point out how crap the flexirent deal is...
