Capturing Gameplay

Hey guys, This question has probably been asked before, but i wanna create a structured discussion on the topic. This video has been my research so far.

I wanna ask for your opinions on external and internal capture cards for

Consoles
Laptops
Desktops
(Tablets?)

The reason im asking is because i started an internship with a games company, my role is to capture gameplay footage for the marketing and design team. In the future i will follow up my query with a 'best capturing desktop possible' thread.

If you have a decent quad core or higher processor you won't need an external or internal capture card.

You want a seperate hdd to record to as well. Not the same one the game is on.

Use Msi afterburner. It's built in capture software is far superior to fraps, and it's free.

That's for pc's at least. I have no clue about capturing consoles.
