There is one. You have to be a level 10 to download it though.

    Yeah...

I'm guessing it's because they never felt the need for one.

If you really want to know ask in Feedback.

Clearly the convenience of being able to click onto an app rather than have to bookmark a page would make the whole site more user friendly...
    It's hardly rocket science

But I will give my two cents into feedback

Both on my phone and laptop I have the ability to click into boards extremely easily.

Don't really see the need for an app tbh, don't see how it would improve usability.

    Hahaha... beauty!

Looks like someone stuck a clowns nose on the guy.

Youtube does that; I could have sworn boards had an app some time back not if not then I guess not.

One click rather than two or three is at least half as easy to me, plus with 250 millioniPhones sold..... It's surely the way to expand

It is one click for me anyway.

Introduce yourself to a browser that allows you to bookmark sites at the top of your browser.

Am currently using Firefox which allows me to bookmark 10 sites just below the address bar. Meaning I can click into these sites at any time.

Phone also allows me bookmark as many sites/apps etc as I want to my homepage.

Are you sure it's not just the way you are using the technology, as opposed to how sites are operated?

I here you 100% when using a PC but when using an iPhone or pad you need to click safari-bookmarks-scroll to find-boards.ie.
To me that's to much, maybe I'm being a lazy mofo, but trust me I understand technology that's the main reason why I don't understand the issue

Do you use boards.ie on your phone or touch.boards.ie? Or are you one of the dinosaurs that use m.boards.ie

They do actually have an app in development (if I remember correctly) it's just gonna be a while. They used to have an app that was pretty much exactly the touch site but was on your home screen, it was barely used.

Could have saved yourself some time and just Googled how to bookmark stuff to homepage.

As mentioned in site linked above.

Open browser - It's usually in my open pages anyway, if not, click in address bar and press b. Up she pops.

I'm pretty sure it was in development last year. Haven't seen anything since about it.

I`m using an app on both me phone & tablet, don't know if its the official Boards.ie app but works a treat for me. Its available in play store.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,829 ✭✭✭Nemeses

There's an unofficial one on Google Play - But I think that makes use out of touch.boards.ie ..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,797 ✭✭✭✭hatrickpatrick

I'm not going to lie, Boards.ie's touch/mobile site, particularly where navigation between forums and from thread to forum is concerned, is a headache inducing pile of sh!te, and when I'm on my iPhone I tend to just use the link to switch to the desktop version.

Isn't it obvious? They're too busy creating the app that randomly closes threads & gives bans/infractions.
