Beach ceremony

    Hi
we are recently engaged and probably going to have a private civil ceremony and then do a family and friends handfasting ceremony.
We got engaged on a long beach in Kerry and would love to do the ceremony on it but this IS Ireland.
Do you think we could ask people to attend in all weather (late august to September) and just dress appropriately? It would be a really short ceremony but the beach is the special part for us.
The reception would be in a nearby town but the place probably cant cater for the ceremony as it is a small hotel restaurant with booths and perhaps ppl wouldn't be able to see the ceremony.
We also don't want the long dragged out palaver of the typical irish weddings so the simpler the better. Roll out of bed- get stylist relative to do hair and face, plop on dress, slug a bit of champers and rock on to the event, take some pics, eat and hang out with everyone. I really don't want to have to DO the ceremony in Cork city and then for everyone to drive to the reception 2.5 hours away.... (hate that nonsense).
Do you think anyone would object to the gathering of 70 or so ppl on the beach on a Thursday avo. (Its a really big beach) and public access or would we have to get permission to do it?
Its NOT a civil ceremony on the beach just the handfasting bit so I don't foresee any legal problems. I mean if that amount of ppl decided to arrive to the beach who could do anything about it?
Would appreciate hearing from anyone with advice or experience of same.

Ring Kerry County Council, is it Inch Beach? I would imagine for an organised gathering/event you will probably need public liability insurance in case of accidents.

Other than that I can't see how it could be a problem. Apart from the weather of course!!
