    Hi

For the last couple of months my front right wheel has been shaking when I brake from about speeds above 30 mph. There is a slight rubbing noise at low speeds. I took off the wheel and the brake disc was loose on that side when compared to the other side. Is the brake disc warped? Why is the disc so loose? Thanks in advance

the wheel will hold the break disc in place so if the break disk was loose the wheel would have to be to, sounds like the disk is warped, have you checked the caliper to see if its moving freely and not seized?

How old is the disc? It could well be worn or damaged, either way I'd have it looked at as brakes along with tyres are all that keep you on the road.

I found it strange that the actual disc can literally slide off if that makes sense. Can the disc be tightened? Could be warped.

id say its warped but its not strange for a break disc to slide off.

On that model Corolla the brake disc is held in place by the wheel. Tighten the wheel nuts and you tighten the brake disc.

Put the wheel back on, secure the vehicle on axle stands not the jack. grab the wheel top and bottom and feel for any play, then grab at 3oclock and 9oclock and check for play again. Compare to other side for guidance, but anything more than a tiny amount of play is bad.

Turned out it was brake disc and pads on that wheel. Wheel bearing is starting to go but isn't really an issue at present. It works perfectly now
