How much wine can you order online?

Hey guys,

Myself and the missus found some lovely wine when we were in Portugal. I have found a place that will export to Ireland but am wondering what is the legallity of it? Will I get caught with customs charges? What is the maximum you can order etc?

According to here:http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/travel_and_recreation/travel_to_ireland/customs_regulations_for_travellers.html, the limit is 90 litres, but I'm fairly sure that only applies if you're bringing the goods physically yourself (see here: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/arriving/arrivingeu.htm, it's a UK page but I'd be fairly sure the regs they quote are EU-wide).

I know it's not really answering your question, but there might be more info linked from the above two pages to read!

It also says that

If your purchases are equivalent to or less than the quantities set out in the table below, they will usually be regarded as being for your personal use. If you exceed these quantities, you may have to demonstrate at Customs that the goods are for your personal use.

Once it is for personal use, there shouldn't be any limit as you have paid EU duty on them, however proving it is for personal use may be more difficult!
