    Hi

I'm just getting started into golf, I haven't played a course yet but I've played a few rounds at a Par 3 and got reasonably well (62 last week). I used to play a bit of pitch & putt in my teens but I hadn't picked up a club in 10 years until 2 months ago. I have to say I'm started to get hooked already and I can't wait to get out and play a full round.

I have a set of clubs which are about 15 years old. The clubs have only ever been used a few times so they're in great nick but I need to get a putter. The putter I'm using at the moment is one I found in a shed at home and it's about 4 or 5 inches shorter than my mate's one :)

Could someone recommend me a cheap putter?

Fair play for starting out, as the above poster mentioned you could try adverts.ie but I personally bought my first putter in American Golf, only €20 at the time, served me well it did until I bought a 2-ball last year!

Putting is more about how you feel with the club in hand anyway.

If you can get to Sports World/Heatons they have a nice Dunlop Tour putter for €12. The thing is actually really nice, I use it.

    It's this one:

Also need some golf shoes. Any suggestions on where I'd get a cheap pair? cheers.

    I'd say carrickmines again bener.

I would try and splash out that little bit extra though if you can.
A comfortable pair of golf shoes makes a massive massive difference.
Remember you're going to be walking for 4 and some hours every time you play.

As they say, spend money on shoes and matress, you're pretty much always in one of them :D
