    Hi all.

Can anyone tell me how do I take the top drive shaft out of a vicon/Pz 168. Need to replace one of the drums. I have taken the top off to show the gears that drive the drums. I can see the large nut that holds the drum in place but I can't get to it as the driveshaft blocks access. Does anyone know how to go about it.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Mk

I thought ud remove it from the bottom. But if ya have to take that nut off start by (taking off belts then loosen nut on small flywheel and take small clip out of this shaft that holds the cog on it. Pull that shaft out and then) might not have to do this if shaft comes out easy remove clip that is on end of main shaft to get cog of it. There should be a large threaded nut holding a bearing in behind it remove this then the plastic cover at far end and 32 nut that's on shaft( early type small shaft ones anyway ) shaft should then be free. But will probably be a struggle or beating match

IF your replacing the drum then its from the bottom. As far as I can remember its straight forward enough but you need a special pulling tool which would have come with the mower day 1 to take off the bottom saucer. Once you have that off all that holds the drum in place is a nut and circlip at the end of the shaft

    Thanks for reply.

Should have mentioned that the old drum came off while working the machine. The nut that holds the drum in place (inside the machine) came loose and the drum stayed on the ground when I lifted the mower. I have opened the top off the machine found the nut and the key. Now I have to put the new drum back on. There is no way of getting to the nut with the drive shaft to the drums in place, do I have to take it out. Or is there another way to refit the new drum.

    Thanks
