Best man speech what do you think

Good evening everybody my name is Tim and despite myinability to speak or read well in public Ben has chosen me to be his best mantoday. Ben I want to thank you for asking me to be your best man it’s truly anhonor. I would also like to thank the parents for all their help in making thisday possible. Holly’s parents (names) obvious you already know this otherwisewe wouldn’t be here today but I can reinsure you your daughter is in good handsBen will take very good care of Holly. Ben’s parents Rita and Merlin it goeswithout saying you both did an excellent job raising him. Ben is one of thebest people I know. I would also like to give Rita and Merlin a special thanks fortheir friendship to my family and I over the years. Well, what can I tell youabout the groom? He’s handsome, athletic, and is a stylish dresser. Sorrywrong wedding. Seriously though I’ve known Ben as long as can remember andduring that time we have been close friends and partners in crime on numerousoccasions. We’ve had some excellent times together over the years, and I’m surewe’ll have more in the future. I value my friendship with Ben he has alwaysbeen there for me and I look forward to having the same great friendship withhis new bride Holly. It’s been an honor and a privilege being your best mantoday and you have also given me another friend in Holly. I look forward tobeing a part of your lives and having you both a part of my life for many yearsto come. Have been married for 13 years myself now, I know how wonderful it isto have a special bond with someone, and I’m so happy that Ben and Holly havefound that bond with each other. If I could have everyone please raise yourglasses in a toast to Ben and Holly. I speak for everybody here when I say I wishyou both all the happiness in the world for your future life together. Are there any funny stories/situations you and the groom where ever in together that might give people a chuckle? I would also suggest complimenting the bride & bridesmaids, and a few little jokes thrown in?

I think it is really really good. It is short (very important I think) and genuine. I was a best man before and I kept my speech short and I think everybody was delighted. I have been to so many weddings where the best man tries to shoe horn in some humour or goes off in a tangent about some 'hilarious' story that only a select few will get and it is very uncomfortable and cringeworthy.

The only thing I would change would be the line where you say 'sorry wrong wedding'. This is a bit clichéd and I have heard it at a few weddings before. Maybe try be a little original here or instead of the sentence 'sorry wrong wedding' insert 'at least when he is sober anyway' or something else. Just a suggestion.

Despite the fact you could get 10 pages out of his dads name alone, its fine. You gotta work in "round table" and "few pints of arthur would be magic" and always do a "wehwehweh" after each one.
