As Defy 3 out of stock around my area, I've narrowed my choice for Cube Peloton, Specialized Allez Sport or Scott Speedster 40. To me I think better off with the Specialized. Any thoughts on this? I decided to float around €900 mark. Thank you!

I can't comment on the other bikes but I bought an Allez Sport at Christmas and really like it. Its a very comfortable ride, have had no problems and feels quite light and nimble, seems to pick up the KM's quickly when needed. That's just my opinion, wouldn't say I'm the most knowledgeable at all on bikes, I'm just stating my experience :)

I've an allez 3 years, not a single issue....gets my vote

Thank you! What keeps me wondering Defy 3 RRP is €849, where Allez Sport retails for €80-100 more. Probably not worth the difference. And just found out my company using the voucher bloodsuckers so any haggling will be impossible. What a sHame!!

To agree with other posters, the Allez Sport is a fine bike. I've had mine coming up on nearly 3 years at this point and no problems. None of which to say the Cube and Scott you're thinking about aren't fine bikes either :-)

I've a Cube Peloton got at the start June, had no complaints at all. I put 1,700km on the bike and its perfect. I think slighty ahead of the Defy 3, cycled that for a week on loan.

Ive just ordered the 2014 version of the Allez Sport, cracking looking bike. Can't go wrong with either the Peloton or the Allez to be honest. Only for me not being able to buy the right size I would have gotten the Peloton.

I had to wait 3 wks for my bike due to size, if I was in a rush to buy would have chosen a different bike. Glad I wasn't

go for the allez, its better priced than the other two. cube seriuously spiked their prices this year, spesh have come down and giant remain high. this is all with regards entry levers models.

The Allez looks gorgeous in the flesh too. Pictures on the web don't do it justice at all. The matt black effect come out really nice.

Can you get your hands on a Cannondale CAAD 8 with sora. Great looking bike. 875 in cycle superstore.

Would you not make my decision harder, please? :-) So may options now... They all looks nice. I just starting off cycling. Used to cycle before though. Canondale out of stock well. Defy 2 €45 more, probably if spend that much, you go further and get Defy 1. As far as I see shops are selling the bike for rrp and none of them have a special offer. Decisions, decisions... It's time to sit down now and think.

Huge thank to all for your inputs!

Cannondale bike can be ordered in quickly. Was in today looking at them with a friend. They're available and with the 5% discount you'll get brings it to 831 euro. Very light bike for what it is.

Thanks for sharing it! Sounds tempting at that price!

No luck! Out of stock for the rest of year. Have to go a specialized way while I can!

Got a Cube Peloton 105 in January.

One of the spokes on the back wheel came completely loose and put a bad wobble on the wheel. No biggie and took only a minute or two to sort out but would've preferred it not to happen.

Good bike otherwise. Looks nice too.

Stiofan, thats the problem with the 105 pelotons and agrees and anything else with those easton wheels. theyre not on the cheaper models but i think they must be O.E.M bought wheels, the spokes keep popping and coming loose. also because easton have a new supplier in ireland the wheel must be returned for replacement with a few weeks waiting time leaving you with just a spare wheels IF YOURE LUCKY

That's a bit sh*t eh?! Thanks for pointing it out. I've actually trued the wheel twice since getting it which surprised me a little. Now I've the dilemma: triathlon in 3 weeks, training going well - do I wait and risk it or contact the shop immediately?

    Thanks again!

    1) you didnt try true the wheel
    2) if you tell the shop put nipple freeze on it, it may or may not work but best off telling them its frustating you and get them to send it back. the shop are pretty much obliged to do it and it costs them nothing but time.

you should have it back for 3 weeks time but chances are as long as they can offer you a spare itll be as good or better than the one theyre taking off you.
