Asics GT 2000 or Brooks Adrenaline

Had my gait analysed - I'm over pronating moderately.

Have looked at and tried on the Asics GT 2000 and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13. Both feel comfortable and seem to solve the over pronation. (They recorded my running while wearing them)

So I guess my only question is what are peoples opinions of these runners?

I've had Brooks Adrenaline and currently wear Brooks Ghost. No problems with either, I've done about 300 miles in the Ghost and they're losing their cushion. Then again I'm a bit of a plodder. Can't say much about Asics as it's been 5 years since I've worn them (Kayano - a sturdy shoe).

I got the GT 2000s yesterday at my normal size. They fit fine in shop but I wore them at home for an hour or so and they are actually suite tight. Should I be going a size up from my normal shoe size? Fingers crossed they'll have next size up for me.

I get the wider fit, 2E or 4E. Most shops wont stock them but should be able to get them in for you or online. Anytime I have got Asics one size up I get blisters on 14+ miles.

I went through a few pairs of the Asics 2000 (when they were 2150, 2160's etc) & loved them......until I found the Adrenalines. I found the Adrenaline 11 & 12's brilliant. Felt lighter than the Asics and you don't get that dreaded hole in the toe box that all Asics seem to suffer from. The Adrenaline 13's feel a little bit heavier & clunkier than its predecessor but still a good runner.

I still have some Asics that I rotate through but it's the Brooks for my go to shoe.

Run Ireland are doing a good deal on runners. I'm going to go for a pair of the Adrenalines having tried them at the weekend. The asics are a bit too narrow for me. Thanks all.

Last 2/3 years have used asics 2160's and kayano's both wore a hole in the toes after a year each on very moderate running.
Average around 5 miles a week.
Looks like brooks next for me.

Im a week in to using my new brooks. 4 runs, about 25 mile in total. They are quite tight but i reckon they'll stretch a bit. Problem Im noticing is that my toes are sore after running and one of them has a blister after tonights run. Im size 11 so i got size 11. Im a bit screwed now as its too late to change them. I'll persevere for now and hope for the best.

Far too small for you. You are going to ruin your toes as they are being squeezed into the top of the shoe every time you take a step. Running shoes wont stretch lengthwise at all, they may release a little in width, but its important to get the fit right in the first place.

Most places that stock specialist shoes should have a return policy that ensures the fit & function is right

Sorry just spotted you got them in a shop after being fitted & given a recommendation?

Shop should take them back from you and fit you properly in the correct size. If they won't you're shopping in the wrong places.

I actually find the Adrenaline a little too narrow around the middle of the foot - used to get arch blisters from a previous iteration. Also found I had to go a half size up. Very happy in the 2000s at the moment though.

I bought them online after a fitting in a shop. They felt fine in the shop. I have no comeback now that I've worn them a few times!! Sick!

Just wondering if you saved much by buying online?

I went for gait analysis today, and the guy invested quite a bit of time in me.
I bought the Asics GT 2000 in the end, but I'd feel that I should give the business to the shop in question.

Incidentally I was looking for a narrowish shoe, and I feel that this GT 2000 fits the bill - will go running later and that of course will tell its own story!

The run ireland shop are doing 25% off all runners. The new gt-2000s are 97.50 on the site.
