    Hi All,

Looking for some advice on a hybrid bike for travelling to work and for using on the weekends with the small fella who is 19 months. Something that can hold those child carriers. I am going to do this on the bike to work scheme. Will I be able to include accessories like the child carrier and bike helmets for both of us on the scheme.
I have tried a road bike before and I didn't get into it, so a hybrid will be just fine, I assume I would have to use one if I am going to be using a child carrier anyway!

Would the Trek FX bikes, like the 7.1 be any good for what I am looking for?

Cheers for the advice lads :)

A metal framed road bike is also fine with a rear child seat, but since you don't want one of those it's not relevant.

Most of the carriers fit to the seat tube, so you just need something with an ordinary uncluttered round-ish seat tube, i.e. not this.

You can also get seats which clamp on to a rear rack, but the seatpost-attached types give better comfort for the little one.

Any recommendations on a hybrid? Would a Trek 7.1 do the job?

A Trek 7.1 would do fine.

    Any hybrid would.

I have an older version of the trek and find it does the job well. I usually carry our 4 year old and one of his twin brothers aged 2.5

I would recommend using a seat at the back rather than a crossbar seat until he is about 30 months old because you need to watch them holding the bar and they are easily distracted. From 3 on, the crossbar seat is best.
