Anyone here doing any of these events ? All on a 13.1 mile loop - spectacular but very hilly. I've signed up for the half - looking forward to the route but think the hills will have me even slower than usual !

Details on achillultra.com - don't know how to do the linky thing on
    the phone.

When I registered it was €40 but I think it might be a bit more now. Different people organising this one (local ultra runners as opposed to Achill tourism) so would approach it with an open mind. Different route too ....

50 now..which is too much for me but then again so was 40.. i know the route ive driven parts of it before, itl be a tough run, friends of mine are doing it so i might head that direction to have a look seeing as in mayo already.. i wish it luck and hopefully il register early next year if its on again..

Yep - very little reprieve from hills on this route and with the ultra you get to do it three times. Add to that the fact that Achill is a very windy place and part of the route is very exposed then you should get all the suffering you want I should think ! Spectacular setting though .....

You forgot to add that you won it ! Spectacular run alright which was the main reason I did it - definately the toughest half I've done.

Looking forward to doing this again. Huge effort put into organisation and can only get even better by bigger numbers taking part and enjoying one of Ireland's premier races
