Damaged radiator?

    Hi all,

I have a 00 1.25 Fiesta. Yesterday after a longish drive (80 miles or so) I noticed the radiator at the front of the car wasn't hot, not even warm. Air temperature infact. The heater is working - I love heat :pac: so it's always on the hottest setting with the middle fan speed.

I was just slightly concerned that the radiator is not hot at all. There is a pipe that goes into 1 side of the radiator, which is very hot, while - what I guess is the exit pipe - is cold.

Is this normal? The engine hasn't overheated or anything.. not sure if having the heater on is keeping it from overheating..

    Edit:
not sure if it's relevant but it's at 183,500 miles.

How long before you checked? Even parked facing a soft breeze and without the engine running, a radiator will cool far quicker than the engine. Besides that, Id quickly get around to checking the thermostat. Pump should be ok if your heating stays.

I checked it within two minutes of stopping; I will have someone look at the thermostat then to see if there's a problem with it! Thank you :)
