Reading some articles on line but ofc I value peoples opinions here.
It's a non Punk gig and the flyer in front of me is telling me it's a Pedro-Psy trance Live set whatever that means.

The guy who asked me to do it said there will be all types of lights...

So b4 I get stuck into the online articles I googled has any one here got tips and recommendations...

I will be using a flash and was thinking about dragging the flash for natural and garish type effects...

    http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=616794

was the 1st link I read...

Venue is downstairs in Fibbers in town which is very very dark normally...

you can set the flash to fire at the end of the exposure. it is called rear curtain or something and put it on a slow setting like advised in the other thread.

thats all creative a zany and everything but you should mix it up too the fairly straightforward front flash does most of what the client is probably looking for then just get the persons name. ideally bouncing the flash off a white ceiling is more flattering if there is no white ceiling try getting a diffuser for the flash

Ya I read some more and some of my gig shot flash uses are gonna come in handy here and I will use a 24-70L. no white ceiling but I have the diffuser for my 430EX II which is easily powerful enough flash as it's a small venue.

rear sync works well, also have it off camera, long exposure and mash the flash manually a few times
