    so i came up with this idea for a comic book and i'd like to know what you guys think :). Zack Smith a senior in high school who majors in physics is at a science convention. he spend's the whole day watching display's and lectures on energy. Suddenly there is a power shortage and radiation emits from several of the various displays at the convention harming several students, Zack being one of them.one doctor takes a keen interest in him as there is a change in his molecular chains but this doctor hides this. he discovers he can absorb energy and it greatly increases his muscular and healing capacity meaning the more energy he has in his body the stronger, faster, more agile he is aswell as increased ability to heal and regenerate.

    The reason the doctor had taken such an interest in him was because he is infact an evil genius who caused the power shortage and many students who attended the convention were affected in a similiar way by the radiation all with different abilities depending on the lectures they watched and the interest they took in them. All students were required to wear a braclet for admittance to the convention which were infact devices created by the doctor to monitor their aptitude for certain area's of science. The doctor plans to use this group of super beings to enslave people he views to be inferior beings such as those of a different race or religious background.

    At the hospital the doctor attends to each student affected by the power shortage giving them a serum which causes their abilities to be activated and in turn putting them in debt to the doctor. as he is about to inject Zack his father arrives having heard about the accident. he instantly recognises the doctor and has a subdued confrontation. the doctor does not get the chance to inject Zack which he greatly regrets later as when he reviews the the findings from the braclets to try and establish a field leader he discovers that Zack showed the greatest aptitude out of all his students for his particular subject meaning he has the most potential. Zack's father then brings his son home and explains everything to him. he reveals a secret serum he himself has devised which will eliminate said gene. he injects his son allowing him to keep his abilities but meaning he can never be controlled by the doctor Zack must now stop the doctor and each of his henchmen one by one.

    It turns out Zack's father and the doctor were both green berets in the us army but the doctor was a sociopath who carried out similiar experiments on afghan/iraqi/iranian civilians greatly disfiguring them and killing others. Zack's father found out and confronted him causing doctor to go into hiding. Zack's father then found documents of the doctors work and began to work on reversing the doctors ability to control those affected by the radiation as he knew he had not seen the last of him. his own son is the only one he can salvage at the moment as the doctor has activated the gene in all others affected by injecting them with his serum. he removes the gene strand from his sons molecule meaning the doctor can never gain control over him. he then begins to train his son in green beret combat skills, recon skills, and so on. One draw back is that Zack's father's serum did not allow Zack as much control over his power as the other student's effected meaning he must master his power and not overload with energy, something that will cause conflict between him and his father who tell's Zack he must try and become a great soldier and for the time being use his powers as a supplement rather than his primary offense.

    Characters;

    Zack Smith/Laoch: the lead character. shows a great love for the concept of energy. He is the only student affected by the power shortage the doctor failed to gain control of. he can absorb energy maximising his muscular capacity and healing ability.

    John Smith: Zack's father and a veteran Green Beret. He is of Irish origin and gives Zack the alias Laoch the Irish meaning for warrior. He constantly re-iterates to Zack he must not just rely on his ability to absorb energy but to learn everything he can from John and his experience as a Green Beret, something Zack will later come to understand.

    Dr.Spielman: The doctor and a former Green Beret who planned the power shortage to manipulate certain students for his own gain.

    Brad Johnson/: The schools football captain who is targeted by the doctor as he shows a great aptitude for sport's science and performance. He gains incredible physical capabilities which would require Zack to absorb a vast amount of energy to match which his father feel's he could not handle yet.

    Mike Cleverly/Neuron: A recluse targeted by the doctor as he shows a great aptitude for neurology. gains the ability to control the neuro systems of other's to a certain extent.

    Emma Pritchet/Temptress: Zack's girlfriend who is targeted by the doctor as she shows a great aptitude for Psychology and human behavior. She is not originally recruited to the doctor's team as he uses her to manipulate Zack and as a kind of spy.

    Pete Gacy/Tyrant: A serial killer on death row the doctor breaks out of prison to lead his team after Brad was bested by Zack. The doctor administers a new serum to him that grants him similiar powers to Zack but to a greater extent. he can project energy blast's and control higher level's of energy than Zack at first. he has no moral's but has an un dying sense of loyalty to the doctor as he has granted him all this power and a new life. This causes the other members of the doctors team to follow the doctor out of fear that he may turn Tyrant on them should they betray him.

    there are a lot more I still have but at the moment i'm just fleshing them out.

    Thanks man I just came up with it yesterday evening and then me and a friend of mine fleshed it out :D we're kind of debating over how powerful Zack should be. he wants him to be kind of like say spiderman or daredevil but I think his abilities should give him the potential to be much more powerful than that. I want to take it the direction that him and his father are always arguing about how much energy he should use.

    For example in one fight Zack is fighting one of the lesser students and hasn't been paying close enough attention to his father's teachings about using the surrounding area to his advantage. He then takes in all the energy from a warehouse back-up generator and curbstomps the other guy. Afterward his father berates him for taking the easy way out leading to a massive argument and Zack taking his girlfriend away for the weekend to the families old farmhouse for the weekend to get some space.

    the first night they're there the doctor arrives with Brad, Neuron and two other characters I'm still developing. Zack tries to fight them but it's too much. as they capture his girlfriend he decides he has no choice but to harness all the energy he can. he digs his hands into the ground and absorbs all the geothermal energy on the surrounding 100 acre's makig him insanely powerful like let's say 35 tonne strength level.

    He decimates the doctors team and is about to pound on the doctor. As he approaches the doctor his knee's begin to buckle. He fall's to the ground and a massive surge of energy leaves his body. Having been unable to handle all that energy at once he is near death only saved by his regenerative gene. He is forced to look on as the doctor berates and beat's his girlfriend.

    He survives and return's home having realised his father was right. they reconcile and his green beret training becomes his life. He also start's from the bottom absorbing the energy from a toaster and meditating in this state trying to keep a totally calm state of mind. When he can do this he moves onto a car battery and so on and so forth.

    It's also at this point Tyrant is introduced as the doctor feels Brad is not strong enough to lead the team given what happened at the farm.
