If I pass Bus licence will it allow me to drive a lorry also?

    As title suggests looking to optain the bus and lorry liscence...Mate of mine suggestd I just do the bus and that if I pass it i will be able to drive the lorry also ?? Is this true ?? Also whats the difference between C and C1 and D and D1 ??

    No that's not true nowadays.

    For a truck you must be 18 yrs and 21 for a bus.

    C1 is for a truckup to 7.5tonnes, C is for any truck.

    D1 is for a bus up to 18 passengers (i.e. a minibus) D is for any bus.

    You'll get better info in the Learning to Drive Forum.

    C is just for a rigid truck, for an articulated truck you need an E+C licence.

    Yes, of course - Apologies I was thinking of weight only. :o

    Four truck categories C1, C, EC1 and EC.

    Similarly for bus - D1, D, ED1 and ED.

    Plus if the OP doesn't do the CPC test then he'll have to be 21 for the Truck and 24 for the Bus.
