Fiat Stilo - Changing Bulbs

My beloved 2002 Fiat Stilo needs some bulbs changing. The little screen went on it a few weeks ago but I know a brake light bulb needs changing and before the screen went it had been telling me that my one of my rear fog lamps was gone, which it's not, I think that's just the electrics (part of the charm of owning a Fiat). Any idea how to clear that? Should I just change the bulb even though it works?

Anyway, can anyone explain how I can change the brake light please? One of the headlamps went two years ago and it cost €110 to change as they'd to take off the side panel. I *hope* this one can be changed without as much hassle. I know how to open the panel in the boot but after that all I can see are wires. Can anyone explain to a complete novice? The constant beeping is driving me mad :o Thanks.

Pop the boot, and on the side you need to change the bulb there is an access panel. Remove this, disconnect the wiring loom and unbolt the light cluster. Maje sure you dont drop any of the nuts into the gap, they''re a bastard to get back out.

Remove the cluster, take off the back and replace the appropriate bulb.

    Reverse procedure to fit

The rear fog lamps on the stilo is prone to getting water inside it, and this will cause the resistance to go up. The car thinks the bulb is dead, even though it isn't.

The last one I did involved popping out the terminal, and sanding the two contacts inside very lightly. Others I have done involved changing the connector completely. They are available at most scrap yards for a few euro.

Thanks to you both. I'm a bit apprehensive about doing it myself :/ I think I'll ask my brother to do it and show him your replies. He's a sparks so would be a bit more familiar with bulbs and wires than me :pac:
