    Hi there,

I have a blog on wordpress.com and want to switch it to wordpress.org. My problem is I am unsure how to do that without losing my website name. If I sign up to wordpress.org (and bluhost, or whoever), will I not have to give a name to begin with? How do I get the same name across from wordpree.com to .org?

    Thanks

You don't give a name when you sign up to wordpress.org. You simply download the files that you will be uploading to your hosting account (some hosts have tools to do the install for you, so do check that out. Either way it's not too difficult to manage).

Your best bet is to have a read on how installing wordpress works. I'd also suggest having a quick read on migrating a site from wordpress.com to a self hosted wordpress.org site. If you've any questions after reading those on how it works, feel free to ask.

Cheers! I'll try that and see how it works. I'll be sure to ask if I get stuck, thanks!
