How do I get a part time job in Cork while studying at U.C.C.

    I am a 17 year old female student who is hoping to attend U.C.C. in September. I am looking for advice on how I would get a part time job in the city as I relly need the money. I am constanly applying to advertised jobs on recruitment websites in hotels and shops but nothing ever comes of any of them. Does anyone know how I would get a job in one of the many smaller cafes, shops and restaurants around the city centre? Is it worth going in with my C.V. and asking the manager myself? any advice i greatly appreciated!:P
