    Hey all,

Just a quick one for ye, if you order a bike off a website, does the bike come assembled, semi-assembled or does that vary from site to site?

It varies. Which site? Most come assembled bar some minor bits.

Saw a bike from Argos.ie recently (a nice carbon frame one, the specifics elude me). The spec said some minor assembly was required, so I suspect it depends on the site

Well at the minute I'm just weighing up my options but a few sites I've looked at are wiggle and a couple of different Germen sites

I don't know about buying online. I think dealing with your LBS is better at least you can go back and have a
face to face and get bike set up for you. I bought a Tacx set of rollers it cost 600e from Bike24 in Germany and
it really never worked sent it back twice phoned them many time all I got it works now.

I am in the process of buying a top end bike at the moment and I also looked at Ribble and other on line sites but
you can't beat talking and seeing what you want in the flesh . The other thing talk to your LBS owner and tell them what
you can buy on line he might do you a deal its a buyers market and he/she won't turn you away. :)

That's the playoff - online is generally cheaper but you don't get the personal service. If you're happy enough with the fit, fixing the bars and tuning it up as things settle down then online is fine. If not head off to the LBS and probably pay that bit extra for peace of mind
