Topping up Leap Card

    I topped up my leap card paying cash at the Luas Stop at Jervis as I do nearly everytime I top up.
    I put in a 20e note and whatever change was in my pocket at the time. This is always immediate which is why I do it that way.

    I just checked my balance and it's -65c and should be just under 20 euro. I've an awful feeling that I'm not going to get this money onto the card.

    Has this ever happened to anyone else and if so did leap card rectify this for you.

    It doesn't always go through straight away as sometimes the equipment is in the middle of an update or other glitches.

    Are you sure you put same card in or waited for it to say done?

    Yeah deffo waited pressed top up and said was successful.
    If it doesn't always go through straight away that's fine. But it always did in the past for me. Have a bad feeling though wouldn't say they will refund me too me up.

    Try and remember the time and machine and if it doesn't go through get in touch with them.

    I do was at lunch time yesterday just before I went back to work.

    If the card was topped up at a machine and it said top up was successful it has to have gone through, if there is an error it would reject and turn your cash

    Where did you check the balance?

    Balance shown on the website will not update for 24 hours or so, while the ticket machines will show the current live balance

    Doesn't the machine give you a receipt for a cash top up? It certainly does for credit cards.

    Luas TVMs definitely issue a receipt when you topup by card.

    emailed leapcard.ie and they told me to get in touch with luas so forwarded them on the same mail.
    They didnt say the machine was faulty or anything but said they will be issuing me a refund so happy with that.

    LUAS TVMs do not issue a receipt for cash LEAP card top-ups but pay zone shops do.

    You should see it topped up instantly - if not contact LUAS straight away.

    Good news so something went wrong so they must have known.
