Blowout: Repair or Replace?

Just my luck, money invested in a pair of Gatorskins (25c), 22k into my 1st spin and got a blowout on the rear, Tube changed and it held to the end of the spin.
Tyre is damaged about 3mm up from the sidewall, with a 3mm 2 sided triangular nick, not sure if I clipped a stone or something.
Anyway - bin it or fix it? Any tips?

Bin it.. The high pressure that your tyre will have wont last long after the blow out

B4 you bin it cut out a section to use as a patch, next time. If the nick was any bigger a patch is handy to have.
