Flying to U.S. in 2 weeks with Aer Lingus. Does anyone know are you allowed to use e-cigarettes/vape in Dublin Airport or on the flight at all?

I've seen people using them on Ryanair flights (they even sell them) so I can't see it being a problem.
Also there's a smoking area at the airport these days, outside balcony at one of the pubs!

You can vape in the airports no problem we've asked all the Irish Airports.
But they cant speak for the individual businesses within the Airport

Personally I wouldnt walk around the airport vaping, I would go to the smoking area. If you really have to on the flight, try and wait till people are asleep (if its a night flight) and try and hold the vapour in your lungs as long as you can. If your caught, its on your own ass!

Upstairs in Dublin airport aft3r security there's a pub (can't remember the name) go to the back of the pub and there's an outdoor smoking terrace.

I've vaped in airports and had no issues, security in Dublin thought I was smoking before but once I showed them what was in my hand they had no issues.
I've vaped on planes before but very much on the sly, if it was overly obvious they may have an issue

I have 2 of the SMOK mini ego battery's with CARTOS! (cleromisers tend to leak on planes) that i use for planes and have never had a problem. It's easily hidden in the palm.

Like above, hold the vapor in for about 10 seconds and then exhale, there shouldn't be much if any vapour left to exhale.
Also, get a juice that doesn't stink too much.

I've vaped all over Dublin airport with no problems what so ever.

Same in Atlanta, JFK and Vegas airports, not a thing mentioned, apart from in the food court in Atlanta, but to be fair i shouldn't have been vaping there anyway as people were eating!

I'd say where it says "Use of all other personal electronic equipment is forbidden." probably covers them as regards e-cigs even though they are not specifically mentioned.

The full list gave me a bit of a smile on this rainy afternoon though, "Grenades of all types"

We went on a 9 hour flight to Orlando not too long ago. I used an AIO and el toro Puros on both flights and had no problems. Met a guy sitting infront of us using an ego-t on the way back, needless to say the 9 hours went in very quickly :)

Yeah the flight was full, had a few beers, watched a couple of movies and was vaping away. I wasnt blowing clouds of it out by any means but no issues at all.

Quite surprised that nobody noticed anything at all over a nine hour period, did you go through any scenario's in your head before flying about what you would do if someone brought it to the attention of cabin crew & the flight being diverted to Guantanamo :D

No, totally relaxed. I mean whats the worst they could have done, in my mind it would have been a case of me saying i didnt know i couldnt vape and they tell me to stop and thats the end of it..until i visit the toilet:D

But did any of the cabin crew see you and just not say anything, or was it more a case of they didn't happen to see you?

What airline were you flying with too?

Am off on a long haul shortly and am banking on being able to have a little vape to keep me going :)

Well in theory, the worst they could have done is divert to the nearest airport & arrest you, how do you look in orange dungarees?:P

Aer Lingus, two of the stewards seen me and the guy infront of me talking and vaping but they said nothing, not so sure about the way over as I was a little intoxicated.

I always preferred the black and white stripes myself.

Wonder if cabin crew use them themselves, with you on the stripes by the way

I know Virgin Atlantic say in there safety video that they do not allow smokeless/electronic cigarettes
The use of a ‘stop smoking’ aid is not permitted if it could in any way give the impression to other passengers that smoking is allowed on board. This means that you can’t use any device that emits vapour, has a power source, or produces a light.
