WTD: Hybrid/Road Bike = 100 euro max

My brother is back from inter-railing and after using a bike to get around some part of Europe where the lights are red and the women are professional, he has asked me to help him get one for Dublin. A bike, that is.

He is about 5'9" and while he will probably end up with a Hybrid, he seems to have set his sights on a road bike. His budget is rather unrealistic at 100 euro. As long as it has road slicks I think he will be fine. Single-speeds are fine but no fixies and no "project" bikes, it must be ready to roll.

If anyone has a proper junker that still carries the boards seal of approval (fit for purpose, well looked after even if it's not a looker!) then please post here.

Based in Dublin and looking for something before the start of September.

I've got a Claude butler roubaix road bike I'm going to be looking to sell, aluminium frame all Sora components 7 speed in good nick. Would be looking for more like €150 for it. Based on leopardstown.

Not sure on size but I'm 5'9" and it fits me.

Edit: that should be 7 speed rear, 53x39 front.

Are they stored locally on your computer?

1) Click the paperclip icon in the new message toolbar
2) Up pops the "manage attachments" box
3) Click "choose file" (eg. Ridleyorion.jpg) then after finding the photo, click "upload"
4) Copy the link (right click, select copy - see image)
5) Select the "insert image" icon in the new message toolbar
6) Paste the link between the "

I showed him the photo. He approves. However he won't be in a position to buy for another few weeks and may seek some wiggle room on the price.

I'm happy to come and inspect it on his behalf, make sure it won't require too much in the way of parts, etc.

Shouldn't have any need for parts everything is in good working order only selling as I've a new commuter coming on the bike to work. Have been using this up to now.
