Do groundworkers also move and reinstall the likes of underground wavin piping and manhole covers/ajs??

Apart from digging up the ground and doing foundation work....do they also do wastewater pipe and manhole/aj work??

    Thanks.:)

I suppose it would be..."do they do it".

Removing and then relocating underground wastewater wavin pipes and rainwater gulleys and ajs for deep excavation work.

    One more quick question.

Would a ground works person be able to secure/shutter up a deep hole (8 feet wide and 8 feet deep) to prevent any subsidence and possible damage to a garden wall or a garage foundation?

    Thanks

I don't know about that now

Are you talking about underpinning the foundation and wall.

Nope, just shuttering the side walls of the hole with metal panels,so that the surrounding soil around the hole doesnt collapse into the hole.

If the soil collapses, then the boundary wall and its foundation might be jeopardy of moving/cracking.

Paddy, that's pretty specialist work, 8' deep, you would need more than metal sheeting, probably block work, or concrete.

Pending no long its going to be open for obviously.

In terms of block work shuttering is actually a term used as a form to poor concrete into.

I get the im getting the impression its not a long term hole I could be wrong doe.

It will be a temporary hole (yet to be dug)...its for a 7000 litre underground precast tank to be lifted into the hole.

It would involve some underground wavin pipe (from a garage) being moved and relocated,as well as a plastic aj/manhole cover too.

Sorry for the mix up in terms...I thought shuttering was the temporary metal panels installed down into deep excavations to prevent soil/earth collapse.

The hole would be probably be dug and left for around 1 week, before the tank would be delievered, craned over onto site and down into hole.

Ah shuttering g isn't the wrong term either. Not that that's important

If it were me I'd dig the hole when the tank is on te crane dig most of it and just finish of then. Just before to drop the tank in. Obviously pending what is going on at the site at that time.

Does the tank have to be set up level or is it just dropped in.

You know there is some company's that actually specialise in what your talking about doing.

Base of hole has to be compacted, solid and level and tank has to be placed in the hole to be level aswell.

Can you tell me names of companies who do this please?

    Thanks.:)
