Now that daly is free agent it's the obvious match, I've no doubt this will happen and have to say its exciting as we'll see if Cathal is at UFC level, I'd say he's excited as this is the top welter outside the UFC, c'mon cage warriors make it happen.

Depends where you're looking from-from a hometown point of view it is, if you're a fan of Daly then it's natural to want him to win, What i want to know is when are Cage Warriors going to announce this, and will they be putting it on in Dublin, That would rock

Bit of both. Pendred just rubs me up the wrong way. He's like a jealous ex girlfriend with all of his moaning about the UFC. I get the whole idea of Dana liking people who really go out vocalise their intent, but I had to unfollow him on twitter because it was becoming ridiculous. Plus, Daley is a ****ing animal. I think one of the great disapointments in recent times was Condit getting injured before UFC 108, Paul Daley vs Carlos Condit would've been sensational.

I'm skeptical as to wether or not this fight will even happen, anyway. Dana White has seemed to soften his stance on Daley getting back into the UFC, and Pendred is a nightmare match up for him.

I don't think Dana has softened his stance much, if at all, Daley also now has Visa issues so probably won't be allowed to compete in the U.S, he lied on his Visa application saying he wasn't convicted of assault in December, it was found out and Bellator dropped him.

No way will Zuffa take a risk with him again, and deservedly so, what he did to Kos was disgusting

I dunno man, from watching Dana's post fight scrum with the media after saturday night he didn't seem massively against it. Have a look at it, if you haven't seen it.

On yesterday's MMA Hour as well I got the strong impression that Daley and Zuffa will be patching things up in the next while. I'd love to see Daley vs Pendred in Cage Warriors soon but it's starting to look less likely.

Doesn't exactly seem over the moon on the notion here...

Well fact of the matter is, Cathal wants on the big show, so if he can beat Daley then he'll have earned on it in my opinion-Daley is not out of the UFC ability wise, unlike Che Mills who to be frank was simply told he's not UFC level, So beating a non UFC level guy does not make you UFC level.

Great match up and sooner it happens the better, I'm just surprised Cathal is not more vocal about calling Daley out

    I'm not surprised at all
There has to be someone else (anyone) to fight that would
help his chances other than daley
I don't want this to happen for pendreds sake and I'm not
sure it is a great match up but It may be his ticket in
Hope it does and more importantly I hope I'm wrong

    from powerhouse mma bookface
Paul Daley signs three fight deal with BAMMA

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,549 ✭✭✭✭cowzerp

I think Cathal left it way to late to start calling out Daley-By the time he started rumours where already strongly circulating that Daley was on his way to Bellator

If Cathal had of said it the minute Daley became free agent then he would probably be signed before Bellator even made a move, Its a shame as would have been the Big 1 for Cathal to show his stuff.

Who do we think Cathal will get next now that Daley has signed for BAMMA?

Shows what type of guy Daley is, wouldn't give him the steam off me own piss.

Fair play for CW standing up to this ludicrous demand

True although i don't like the way point 1 is phrased, ''Like MEN do''. Reads like he has a chip on his shoulder and doesn't like a fighters manager/agent speaking to work a better deal for them.

hardly seeing as hes a manager himself

I think the only way Cathal wins here is if he consitently hits takedowns and smothers Daley. The problem with Cathals style is that its no the most exciting so the UFC aren't going to be jumping at the chance to sign him. Look at people like Paddy Holohan and McGregor, win or lose both of these guys fights are exciting as hell. If he does grind Daley to a decision then the UFC won't be too hot on signing him, if he stopped Daley I think an invitation to the UFC would be as good as signed.

If he does make it to the UFC I hope he adjusts his style. The american wrestlers will more than likely be able to neutralize his game. Look at the tear that John Hathaway was on prior to meeting a strong wrestler in Mike Pyle. He got completely crushed by the seasoned wrestler.

Best of luck to him, hope the fight gets signed as its likely a shortcut to the UFC if he wins impressively.

Edit: Never mind all that, just read the last few posts. Hope he gets his shot at a big name soon regardless.
