Dont just leave it at that. Get another 2 or 3 quotes and get as much info as possible and the quotes broken down.

I would charge between €1850 to €2200 depending on boiler make, and materials and would include a powerflush with Fernox F5 and F1 Inhibitor on refill.

Get references if you dont know them or recommendations from people you know.

I also totally agree with that advice. And what you should be looking for.

Thanks for the replies the quote I have is a bit more than that its for a Worcester Bosch boiler which seems ok ?

He did mention a flush and a 5 year guarantee

I am waiting on a callback from electric Ireland to compare, they are offering 10% off and a free climote at the moment

Their price will be in excess of €3k.
I'm not a lover of the Worchester Bosch. Good boiler but a buggar to service, the flue is telescopic on their standard flue. This put the joint within the wall & sealed with aluminium tape that they give you. This breaks the concealed flue regulatory rules.

If you want to post your location here there are plenty of good installers on here that would give you a quote.

I would recommend dealing with a good long standing regestered installer that you can deal one to one with.
Not a Co. That uses sub contractors, some are good and proud of their work and some are..................

Ask the guys here which boiler is good and let us know what area you live in and I'm sure you'll get a reply.

What are you doing about the flue? Do you install the boiler & then issue a Notice of Hazard for flue non-conformance that you have just fitted.
Then tell the customer that they need a RGI to fit a new flue that conforms.

It's the weirdest flue I have ever seen a reputable manufacturer come out with. It beggars belief as in the UK it is a isolate & cap offence.

The other issue I have is the heat exchanger is a complete mare to clean. Even with their cleaning kit it is very difficult to get in at. Most installers therefore don't even open them during a service & then along comes an RGI who wants to service A - Z & finds 4 years of carbon build up in an exchanger that you can't get in at.

Glowworm are the same. You can swap for a solid flue.

But why? Are they not in the know that by giving included with their boiler a telescopic flue or optional extra @ extra cost, Do they not know that their standard flue will get installed & be concealed?
Me thinks they are more interested in sales & taking installers to UK for bit of nosh & tosh than doing things right!

How come they are supplied this way and have a CE mark.
Anything that is not up to current standards should not be sold by suppliers.
    All sounds stupid to me.

It is the main reason I refuse to fit them. Well that & the service issue also.
Other than that they are a very reliable boiler.
Ariston own Giannoni so they manufacture most heat exchangers along with other boiler parts for most other manufacturers. They have a 2 year lead time so if you want to see what will be standard in boilers in 2 years time, look at the Ariston today.
Ariston even manufacture Bosch washing machines & dish washers for Bosch!!

The Micro Genus was an awful boiler, but the CLAS is as the name suggests.

Thanks all, I am in Dublin

Currently have a 20 year old ideal classic that is working but on its way out, I need a boiler to do 12 radiators

The boiler is currently in a utility room on an outside wall
