PRSI when childminding

My wife is thinking of taking up childminding and from what I understand she will be liable to pay Class S PRSI contributions of €253 (rising to €500 next year). Does this have to be paid as a lump sum, or can it be spread out throughout the year with monthly payments? Thanks
