Hi all, this will be my first ever build so i'm a bit of a noob (although I have replaced parts plenty of times and am fairly familiar with how to put a PC together). I hope I have included all the info needed. Any advice would be great, thanks in advance!

    1. What is your budget? €500/600

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming/Video editing/Internet/music editing & creation - Games I would be hoping to play would include Skyrim, elder scrolls online, Battlefield 4 when it comes out

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Yes - my old internal hard drive, my PSU, the case, and the DVD burner. I'm afraid I cannot state the brand names right now as I am not near the old PC at present. Perhaps for the sake of argument we could presume they are compatible?

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1920x1080 and no

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? A card reader would be useful. The rest I don't need at this point as my old peripherals will do for now.

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? I'd rather not but am open to the idea!

    8. How can you pay? Bank transfer, credit card, paypal

    9. When are you purchasing? I won't be purchasing it all in one go - rather it will be purchased over a few as I can't afford to buy in bulk!

It would be best to order in one go as it works out a good bit cheaper when you factor in the shipping. Save it up or get a small loan if you cant wait :)

Here is a build assuming your current stuff isnt compatible.

    Item|Price
AMD FX-6300 Prozessor, Boxed, Sockel AM3+|€102.34
    ASRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0, AM3+, ATX|€71.39
    8GB-Kit A-DATA XPG G Series PC1600 CL9|€60.59
    Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC Windforce 2X, 2GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort|€174.14
    WD Caviar Blue 1TB 6Gb's|€57.04
    2 x ARCTIC COOLING ARCTIC F12|€6.32
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W|€46.52
    LiteOn iHAS124-04 schwarz SATA|€16.56
    BitFenix Merc Alpha|€33.04
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€586.93

And if it is Id go for this:

    Item|Price
    Intel Core i5-3570K Box, LGA1155|€202.32
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 760 AMP! Edition, 2GB DDR5|€251.34
    ASRock Z77 Extreme3, Sockel 1155, ATX|€109.19
    8GB-Kit GeIL Enhance Corsa PC3-10667U CL9-9-9-24 (DDR3-1333)|€56.68

Thanks for the reply, that all looks great! The motherboard and processor were kind of what I was looking at getting, but the other stuff will give me food for thought cheers.

No probs, thats just assuming your case is an ATX and not mAtx and that you have a reasonable spec psu. What kind of pc are the components coming out of

I have actually purchased an new ATX case so that won't be a problem. The PSU I have is 650W (the previous, 300W I had clapped out a few months back and I replaced it myself). The old desktop is a Dell Inspiron from about 6 years ago - the only parts i'll be recycling are the monitor, hard drive, and the optical drive.
