''Today however the Judge, after being informed that the premises has now been vacated, said he was satisfied that Mr Galvin had purged his contempt made an order releasing him from jail. Mr Galvin also apologised to the court and said that he would fully comply with any orders made by the court both now and in the future.''

How satisfied is the Judge now??

FFS, what a cnut of a man.

Hey snubbleste, I've moved your posts to a new thread as the other one was quite a few years old.

Original thread here for reference. :)

People should read the original thread as the authorities warned this landlord about fire regulations which he duly ignored, he was then prosecuted for fire regulation breaches amongst other offences.
It's not clear if this is the house where four people were sleeping in a shed.
    Either way it is sickening.
Garda found with four people living in his shed

What a pr1ck but I gotta love the sensationalist headline. What does the fact that hes an ex guard have to do with the price of a pineapple

Because a garda is supposed to set an example!

In all fairness, the fire appears to have been started deliberately and there was a fire (or smoke?) alarm, which went off. Not sure, the house complied with the new rental dwellings regulations though.

But he is an 'ex-garda'. Surely this is the exact example an ex-garda is suppose to be setting?

I'd say the fact that "garda slum landlord" seems to a pretty common description

It is interesting, and will hopefully change some peoples irrational view that people who are/were gardai are all angels beyond reproach, which many think they are for some reason.

In another thread about a lost wallet I was saying it is one reason people would not hand them in. I was saying people have irrational trust in doctors and gardai, (and more recently in butchers, really weird that one, and this was before the horse meat thing, but before then it was still around)

If you want a passport photo signed it can be by a garda, priest, bank manager etc. Supposedly trustworthy characters, but to me is comical these days, I'd trust the local drug dealer more.

And of course all tenants are people of the highest calibre who would never countenance wiping their bum with the curtains etc
