    Hello all,

I have just logged on to post this query and spotted the Stowa v Steinhart thread, so apologies about another quality style thread.

Any who, I am going to purchase this Steinhart next month http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/Nav-B-Chrono-47-mm,229.html , as I like the 47mm size, the polished stainless steel bezel, blue hands, chronograph, etc.

However, I have just done another quick search of 47mm watches and the Parnis range come up http://www.parniswatch.com/showpro.asp?articleid=1359..... There is a big difference in price and I'm just wondering is the quality difference that vast?

    Any feedback is appreciated.

    I own a steinhart and a parnis.
The quality of the steinhart is better without hesitation.
The Parnis I have is not a total disaster by any means but the strap is poor and the rotor is so noisy it sounds at times like a watch from a lucky bag!
If you are going for a hand wound parnis that wouldnt be an issue.

    chalk & cheese mate

also the steinhart is a chronograph which pushes up the price, so hard to compare both watches on functionality

Apples and oranges in quality. Lets say Stowas are really good quality watches, Steinharts are good with some reasonably good details here and there. And Parnis (I have the feeling they lack any quality control sometimes) can be good and really accurate or complete junk. I think the the main thing here is the materials used and quality control. Stowa really good, Steinhart good, Parnis - often non existent, but you can get lucky...

Cheers Fishguy... Yea I guess you get what you pay for....

Stowa very good (expensive), Steinhart good (less expensive), Parnis not so good (cheap).

I'm going to order the Steinhart and will post pictures when received in October.

    Cheers
