For me I had to get jobs in the college, they went by results and didnt care if you had experience or not. What sort of jobs are you interested in? It may be possible to volunteer for an animal shelter if you were interested in some sort of animal related job.

A few places will take you without experience but you may have to be lucky or do something for free. Dunnes stores are more lenient when it comes to experience but would be short term work.

I'd say the larger stores like Dunnes Stores or Tesco would be more likely to take someone on with no experience. They offer the same training as standard to everyone anyway and generally hire staff in bulk, whereas a smaller store might only want to hire one person to start straight away with very little training. I got my first job when I was 18 with Dunnes Stores with no experience. If you're in South Dublin, Cornelscourt would be a very good bet especially if you can afford to wait a few months and get hired for Christmas. That's how I started out, and they kept me on and I stayed until I finished college. It has gotten more difficult to get kept on though, regardless of how good a worker you are.

In terms of the question "how to get a job with no experience" make sure your c.v. looks tidy and professional. Play up even the smallest things - like having a role in a school play, your TY work experience, any volunteer work (even if it was only for a few days), helping an elderly relative or neighbour with gardening etc. - when you've no experience to back you up, you want to show a potential employer that you, as a person, are worth hiring. So try to give them a good image of you. Always be prepared for the interview as this shows your taking your application seriously. For retail, always have answers ready to questions like "What would you do if a customer had a complaint?" or "What would you do if a customer asked you where a product was, and you didn't know?". Come across as enthusiastic, and willing to learn and eventually someone will give you the break you need :)
