Game controller for MBP?

    I have a mid-2012 cMBP and I want to get back into gaming on it. I have it partitioned with bootcamp and have Windows 7. I have been reading that a PS3 controller is compatible with MAC OSX. Has anyone used tried this and used it successfully??

    I know on the windows side I can just get an PC xbox360 controller and it should be fine?
