    Hi,

I plugged in my antenna cable to see if i will recieve digital tv, and i did. I could recieve RTE 1,2,news, TG4 ect. and also radio channels.

But all of a sudden, the channels dissapeared, and I dont know what happened.

What is the model no. of the TV?
Is it on the list of Saorview approved TVs?
    Where did you buy it?

Approx where in Co Limerick do you live?
Do you know which transmitter you receive your Saorview signal from?
Are you using an internal or roof aerial?
If using a roof aerial is there 1 or 2 aerials? (UHF/VHF with combiner)
If using a roof aerial does it have a masthead amplifier?
Are you using an amplifier any where else from the aerial to the TV.

BTW, Freeview is the UK's digital terrestrial service (ours is Saorview). The two services differ in the video decoding standard that they use, Freeview uses the older MPEG-2 while we use the newer MPEG-4 video decoding. I think any TV being sold now should have MPEG-4 decoding as standard unless it was an old TV left in a storeroom somewhere. Although I don't think this is the problem as the TV did display the video/channels for a while as you say but thought I'd mention it anyway.

Its a Toshiba 32W1333B 32" HD Ready Freeview LED TV
I live in the Kilmallock area.
I dont know which transmitter but probably the one in Mitchelstwon.
I am using a roof aerial.
    Theres 1 aerial.
I dont have a clue if it has a masthead amplifier.

When I first turned on my tv, I found all those channels and they were working fine, I came back about 3 hours later and when I tried wathcing tv, the channels were gone, I tried scanning new channels but there was no singal and no channels were found :(

Quickest way to clear up any aerial issues would be to post a photo of it.

The TV isn't Saorview approved but appears to compatible with the Saorview channels so that isn't the problem.
Use the Saorview coverage checker to determine which Saorview transmitter is recommended for your location. I see from the checker Mullaghanish, Maghera or Mitchelstown are recommended for different areas around Kilmallock.

Regarding the aerial, which type is it - UHF or VHF. As Ronnie say above a photo of the aerial would be good.

Also which direction is the aerial pointing? What channels were received with the aerial before the changeover to digital i.e. TV3?

Regarding the masthead amplifier, is there anything like this close to the aerial on the mast or a distribution amp in the house?
