    Hi Everyone,

We are getting married next year and will only be inviting 35 guests. We are looking for a location in Galway for private dining followed perhaps by a little music.

Having looked at The Twelve and Cloonacauneen and we cannot make our minds up. If anyone has recent experience of these two venues we would really appreciate hearing your opinion, or indeed if anyone is able to suggest alternatives. We would be grateful for any help.

    Thanks in advance.

Both The Twelve and Cloonacauneen are lovely venues. The Harbour Hotel is another one worth looking at. It holds small weddings up to roughly 100 people and is quite central.

Ive been to weddings in both and hand down prefer the Twelve. Clonaucaneen is in my opinion a bit dark, dreary and can be chilly. The Twelve (well the upstairs room, has a lovely homely feel to it, almost like a large attic room (ina good attic way!). Rooms and food were bang on at the Twelve also.

Edit: I think there was about 80 at the wedding I went to and it was perfect.

The Twelve is a personal favourite of mine its so intimate and the staff are absolutely lovely, we went to check it out last year as hubby was shooting a wedding out there for one of his brides and wanted to suss the area out. We ended up staying for hours by the cosy fire and having few drinks and dinner , its close enough to the beach as well so makes for stunning pics! best of luck with choosing your venue you're sure to pick whatever one is right for you:)

There's Ross Castle just past Moycullen, they do larger weddings in a marquee but can do smaller ones within the estate house itself.
Don't know if it's too far, but Zetland house in Connemara is a lovely place for a smaller private wedding.

I got married in Cloonacauneen, and couldn't fault it. Lovely venue, really good food, and they were accommodating to pretty much anything we threw at them. Not too expensive, either, I found it good value for money.
We had about 60 ppl at our wedding so had it in the big room, I'd say with only 35 you might be able to have it in the red restaurant room (which is beautiful), or upstairs in the tower room - which would be really sweet :)
