Polo window winder

Can anyone help me? I have a 1998 polo. The window winder clips onto a metal lug (looks similar to a large TORX screwdriver) that goes into the door and connects to the window mechanism.

The end of this lug/bolt has snapped when I was closing the window and has come off with the winder. Is there anyway I can replace this bolt thing, before I take the door apart?

Or will I have to put together a make-shift extension to this bolt/lug and attach a home made handle?

I have been on so many forums and there has been no feedback to this question, everyone is simply talking about replacing regulators and electric windows.

    TIA

Is it the bit sticking out at 1.15 in THIS VIDEO

If so I done a quick look on ebay and couldnt find anything ... maybe call a few scarpyards and look at a polo to see if you can take the part ... or else find the specific name for the item and search the web

Dickwod1, you re awesome. Yes this is the part.
From what I gather it is part of a triangular fitment with three screws holding it into the door.

    1) So does this come off or not? Can I replace it?...if you know let me know
    2) How can I insert images into the forums?

Only asking because clearly you know 'stuff'...

    Thanks dude.

Very common problem. Happened to me during my driving test! I ended up replacing the whole regulator cost €30 from Kilcock dismantlers. Took ages to find one, all the polos had already had it taken out.

It seems like THIS is the kinda thing your after (make sure it fits your specific car)

You could also try your local auto parts shop or a scrapyard
