Hi, I'm looking to build a PC for around €1200 euro that runs all games from medium to high settings easily.

    1. What is your budget? [€1200]

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Gaming] (If gaming include which games: [Crysis 3, BF4, ArmA III, BF3 etc)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes]

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer?
    [No]

    5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes, a monitor from amazon would be preferable.]

5a. If yes, what size do you need.
[A monitor 20" or bigger would be nice.]

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [None]

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Keyboard/Mouse/Wireless Card/Card Reader/Speakers/etc.] [I need them all]

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [If it's safe]

    8. How can you pay? [Credit Card/Bank Transfer]

    9. When are you purchasing? [Hoping to have one up and running within a few weeks]

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [Cork]

The actual computer itself would be great to get parts off http://www.hardwareversand.de/

Monitor, keyboard and mouse off Amazon.

You should post this in the building and upgrading forum.

The best thing to do is build your own PC, I built mine about 2 years ago
    i7 2600k processor 4 cores that i have now overclocked to 4.8ghz
8gb of Ram , corsair vengeance.
2gb radeon HD 6950, that i flashed with 6970 bios.. so it now has more shaders
and a 2tb hard drive and a blu ray disc player,
also a H20 corsair cpu cooler. oh and a very cheap case.
All this cost me about 1100 euro including shipping.
Now I just use a 32" TV as my monitor through Hdmi connectors, but I built this 2 years ago so you could probably get a better deal now.. and have some money left for a monitor if you wish.
I can play EVERY game at max settings.. and I have alot lol.. and you dont need to overclock anything I just do that because I stream on twitch.tv sometimes.
anyway not sure I can post links to where i bought it but just do a search for overclockers U.K.
Great prices and fast delivery, hope this helped :P

Oh and dont be put off by building it yourself, I had no clue how to either but there's plenty of youtube vids going through every step, its simple.

I think he may have left out a copy of Windows which amounts to 85 Euro approx.

Also the keyboard and mouse etc from amazon prices are in pounds sterling which he just forgot to convert. But they are costly. Adding a good bit extra

Here's a full build from HWVS. You can check for the parts on amazon to see if you can get any cheaper. If you can stretch to another €25 I'd drop the case and extra case fans and go for a Nanoxia Deep silence one.

-edit- Forgot an additional sata cable. Here.

He has done up a good build otherwise, the monitor maybe use hardwarversand.

Personally here is what I would do.

1 I would lose the haswell processor.
Get and ivy bridge one 201 euro

2 lose the extreme mobo an just get an asrock MVP 3 only 70 odd Euro saving you at least 50 Euro which you could put towards your copy of windows.

3 Lose the fancy keyboard and mouse they are stuff you can upgrade in time with ease and won't affect gameplay. Standard ones work just as good

Put that money towards another part or a bigger graphics card. The games you listed will approve of it. As a player of arma games although CPU intensive it will benefit from a gtx 770 specially when they release the full game and much bigger island.. Just my opinion 760 is a good card and will run it well. That is your call.

Bloodbath has covered everything in his build. Looks like a good investment.

    Alright, thanks.

Right, thanks. I want to get a build quickly done at least 2 weeks before school starts, I almost have enough from my summer job. As long as it can run games such as DayZ maxed out with little problems it's fine.

Right, thanks. I want to get a build quickly done at least 2 weeks before school starts, I almost have enough from my summer job. As long as it can run games such as DayZ maxed out with little problems it's fine.

DayZ is badly optimized, even older GTX 660 will let you max it out in terms of what you can do with settings. The problem is it's low CPU usage, old network model and streaming pbo files trough south bridge.
    Solutions to that would be:
Any overclock will increase your framerate quite a lot.

Strong servers with less people and frequent restarts. Character system even has bones in all of 5 fingers, everything you do is synced between players around you. Imagine that within 1.6km radius someone just turns his head, that data is sent trough network and everyone has to process that information. It's like everyone's a tiny server of it's own within a bigger server, this allows for hacks and scripts that are run locally on a client. Basically these 2 are biggest reasons DayZ Standalone will use MMO style server-client model and reduce bone count in bodies, zeds will be simplified even further.

An SSD or RAM disk (removes stutters when zooming or looking around quickly)

Personally I am running fx-8350. On stock 4Ghz I'd get smooth 30-50 fps. At 4.5Ghz I would gain steady 40-60 fps (adaptive vsync on). Unfortunately Intel is better for the job because of how badly this outdated game utilizes CPU cores.

Bloodbath's recommended Intel i5 will be a very good choice. Overclocked you should be able to enjoy smooth 60fps with a dip to 30-40 fps in Cherno or Elektro. A clear upper hand over unfortunate people with 15-25 fps in a combat situation.
Try to get it over 4Ghz mark for best results. Should be easy with this CPU, even on air.

The msi gtx 760 twin froz oc. Is only 229 saving you another 13 euro.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

The PSU you listed is 500W, doesn't the GTX 760 OC use 500W or is that enough?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Not even close. More like 150w. I'd say the full system overclocked would use 300w tops.

The msi card is just as good so go for that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

Also, I just noticed the Intel i5 is discontinued?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

No way. You might as well grab the 4670k with this board then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

I think you left out the keyboard in the build too lol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

The German layout is different so I didn't include one. I'll leave that to you.

There's a few decent boards around that price range. I don't know if that MSI board will be in stock. I think HWVS fecked up on Haswell launch and put a few boards up that they have never got in stock.

You could consider the board above that which is the MSI Z87 G45-Gaming which has sli support if you wanted to add a second graphics card in future. You would want to get a more powerful psu then as well.

There's a post here about getting discounts on hwvs orders. If you run yours through you might be able to save enough to get it back under 1.2k with these upgrades.

Too bad that Mobo is out of stock.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Here's how you can get a discount on your order.

Wow, I'll use that alright. I watched a few videos on Youtube with the GTX 760 OC, on max the lowest it got was about 35 FPS to about 60 FPS on games such as Far Cry 3, BF3 and all that. The intel i5 you listed is back in stock for some reason. I guess I'll go with your build.

But to be honest, I'd rather have a full build that is 1200 euro with the keyboard included.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

You can save €12 going for the msi 760gtx which is just as good as the giga one.

Try amazon for keyboards. This one is popular.

With money saved from discounts you should come under budget. You might even be able to upgrade something.

No the one above that. The deep silence one. The 2 is good as well though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

I think I'll go with 2. As long as everything fits inside but I'm pretty sure they will. I wonder if the LiteOn SATA will match with the cases' color though lol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

Another question, do I need the Wavemaster MX? Doesn't the monitor come with sound?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

The dvd drive will be behind the front door panel anyway so it doesn't matter.

I'm not sure if the monitor does but monitor speakers are crap anyway. 0 base and thin crappy sound.

The wavemaster speakers are a bargain for that price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

Alright, the discounts brings the whole price to about 1210 euro including the keyboard and shipping.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

I also don't need the Wireless LAN actually.

Personally I'd keep the speakers Ronan. You will be glad in the long run specially if you have a few mates round. I know I couldn't live with monitor speakers. But If you are going to be using headphones all the time watching movies , listening to tunes and gaming, then maybe give it a miss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

I might ditch the MSI GTX 760 and go for the one you put in the build. The price raised and it's out of stock.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

So this build is 100% legit, no missing parts besides the keyboard?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 80 ✭✭Ronan Ferry

I couldn't help notice the ram got removed. I'll probably go with your build. I'm just not sure if I should go the extra money and get a more beefy graphics card.
