    Hey,

I am just looking for some advice please, I am training with the Hell and Back in Jan my goal. I did it last year but struggled a bit with the mountain. I'm just wondering would weight exercises on my legs to build them up a bit help me this year?? or should i just try run up as many hills as possible ??

Also if weights would help am i better loading the weight with less reps to build power ?? Or less weight with lots of reps be better

THanks for any help in advance :)

    Mick

I know of several tri\adventure event lads who benefited from doing wendler 5\3\1. If starting it be sure to have someone who knows what they doing to show you the correct form and invest lots of time stretching and mobility work.

    Hi Mick990,

In our 'Masters of Running' workshops we cover correct running technique, natural movement training (MovNat certified) which is based on the work of Georges Hébert (creator of the original military obstacle course) and structured training. You can apply 100% of what we cover into your training and especially events like Hell & Back, Runamuck etc. We will also be organising dedicated Natural Movement circuits within Dublin and Wicklow soon.

You can read my account of the H&B event which I entered this year and was able to apply all of the skills mentioned:
