I'm looking for a new GP in the CC or South Dublin area who's very good with patients suffering from mental health issues. I'm not really happy with my current GP. Don't get me wrong, she's great with other ailments but not when it comes to mental health. Sometimes I find that she's actually being insensitive and unsympathetic. A friend recommended a different GP in the city centre but I just wanted to see if there was anybody else before I booked an appointment. To clarify, I'm looking for someone who's good with patients who suffer from depression, anxiety, insomnia or even bipolar disorder.

Hey OP, I've moved your thread to the South County Dublin forum as you will get better answers here.

    Best of luck.

Would a Psychologist/Psychiatrist not be an option in your situation? As specialists in their fields you may get the help/treatment desired?

Brian Fagan in Ballinteer is pretty good on all issues, including mental health - but as stated above, the GP is really the gatekeeper to other services, so the other services may be more important than the GP
